To the worshipfull the Justices of Accomack County in Chancery. Humbly
complaining sheweth unto your Worships your Oratrixes Sukey & Isabella Abdell Infants
by Phillip Fisher their Guardian & next friend, That a Certain Isabella Turner the
mother of your Oratrix late decd was in her lifetime possessed of two Negro slaves
viz: Charles and Flora, for the term of her life under the will of a certain Abel
Savage her father late of Northampton county now also decd, with remainder after
her death to her five children to wit. your Oratrixes and Catherine, Joseph & Abel
Abdell, equally to be divided as by sd. will hereto annexed will appear --- That
the sd. Isabella Turner departed this life upon the 3th day of March 1800, & since
her death, to wit, in the month of October 1800 the sd. Catherine one of the Children
of sd. Isabella intermarried with a certain William Turner, & hath since departed
this life, to wit, upon the 3d day of July 1801 her sd. husband still surviving.
--- That sd. Wm. Turner during his coverture with the sd. Catherine Turner sold the
slave Flora who was an old woman for the sum of six pounds & hath recd. the said
Sum. --- Your oratrixes further shew that it conduce to their Interest as well as
of all the parties concerned to have a division of sd. slave Charles, & the money
recd. for the sale of sd. Slave Flora divided among them according to their several
rights: But so it is may it please your worships that the other parties not being
all able by reason of their infancy to consent to a division, the same cannot, as
your oratrixes, by their sd. Guardian & next friend are advised, be done without
the aid of your Worships in Chancery. To the end therefor that the said William Turner,
Joseph & Abel Abdell may be made Defts. hereto & may be compelled on oath true Distinct
& perfect answr. to make to all & singular the premisses afsd & that a division afsd.
Slave & money may be made agreeable to the rights of the parties May it please your
Worships to grant the Com: W. Writ of Spa &c:

The Ansr. of
Wm. Turner & Joseph & Abel Abdell by sd. Wm. Turner their guardian specially appointed
to defend the bill of Sukey & Isabella Abdell agt. them exhibited. these defendants
for answer to sd. bill say that they admit the correctness of the fact as stated
by the complts. in their bill, and submit to such division as this worshipfull Court
shall think proper to make in the premisses
